Wycliffe Bible Translators

The following is an extract form the Wycliffe Bible Translators website (found here) and which I commend to those reading my blog

The vision of Wycliffe Bible Translators is that by 2025, together with partners worldwide, we aim to see a Bible translation programme begun in all the remaining languages that need one.

Wycliffe exists to serve the worldwide church, partnering with churches and individuals to make the Bible available to every people group. The aim of Wycliffe is to partner with others to carry out Jesus' command to make disciples of all nations.

We see Bible translation as something that reflects the character of God. Furthermore, we see God working in and through the work of Bible translation throughout the world. It is our privilege to be involved in what God is doing.

Wycliffe UK is part of an international family of organisations with around 7,000 affiliated staff working alongside many partner organisations, individuals from local communities and national organisations, working in languages from 97 countries. For more about the family of organisations, take a look at Wycliffe Global Alliance. Much work has been done over the past 70 years, but the remaining task is immense.

More than ever, Bible translation is a partnership between individuals and churches all over the world. We're looking to partner with people who have caught a glimpse of what God is doing and who are ready to play their part in making his message clear to all. Are you ready to help make the vision a reality?
